PORTFOLIO > TRADE SHOW & LARGE FORMAT DESIGN
Trade show & large format design work
Large is relative. To me, anything bigger than, say, a 24” x 36” poster is large. If you design billboards, you laugh. Below is a selection of mostly trade show booth walls and banners, in connection with a marketing executive. Mostly for use in United States, Canada, and China. When I locate entire booth photos or renders I’ll pop them here too. Helps to see context.
To examine images in full screen mode, tap each to pop it out.
Pop up banners for American trade show event. for Sensata Technologies, aimed at factory OEMs. Actual size: approx. 26’ x 9’.
Pop up banners for the same trade show event. for Sensata Technologies, aimed at factory OEMs. Actual size: 9’ x 9’ and 3’8” x 10’.
Wall (top) from Wanderlust yoga event (with old copy whited out) and two large posters, one in French Canadian. This was the ad campaign direction at the time. Actual sizes: 8’ x 6’, 2’ x 4’, unknown.
Whole Foods in-store end cap display for Rescue brand consumer products. (I also designed product packaging.) Actual size: approx. 4’ x 8’.
Back wall for trade show booth featuring Rescue Pet brand products. Actual size: 7’ x 4’7” (85 x 56 in).
Trade show posters for the ad campaign look at the time, for display to the trade at trade shows. The pull-up banner on the right is for Canadian trade shows. (I also designed packaging on products shown.) Actual sizes: 2’6” x 3’4” and 2’ x 5’.
One banner used for Canadian trade shows. Purpose is to inform the trade of the three brands owned by Nelsons, based on the ad campaigns running at the time. Actual size: 10’ x 10’.
Selfie wall and pop-up banner for Bach Original Flower Remedies for the trade, used in trade show booths. Actual sizes: 10’ x 10’ and 3' x 6’.
Boston trade show panels. They turned out really nice! Cheery and bright, backlit LED and framed in white. Actual size: 4’6” x 6’6”.
Clear and simple. You don’t always have product images when you need them so I built the lozenge using Photoshop. A simple visual to announce the new product to the trade. Actual size: 3’ x 3’.
Backlit history and timeline, designed around the look of corresponding booth. This turned out really nice when viewed actual size, as it was lit from behind, and with the beautiful pictures of the historical Nelsons pharmacy, it was warm and inviting, particularly in the cold florescent environment of a huge trade show. Actual size: 3’6” x 7’6”.
Design for booth door. Warm and inviting, particularly in the cold florescent environment of a huge trade show. Actual size: 2’6" x 7'
Four banners for the China Beijing Auto Show: (left to right) engine, safety, comfort, transmission. There are some nice details in these. For instance, in each top color block, circles emulate a world map, and Sensata factories are shown. In each bottom color block is a nice engineering drawing of a sensor. Love a good diagram. Please note: I do not know Chinese language. Actual size: 31’6” x 70’9” (80 x 180 cm) each.
Back wall for the international semiconductor industry market event in Shanghai, China. It uses the ad campaign look I designed for this (at the time) Sensata business. The look is specially designed to accommodate presentation tables in the lower section, hence the blank area. Actual size: approx. 30’ x 20'
Wall board for automotive industry. Actual sizes: 6’6” x 5’.
